Of course, Alison has ended up where she is because she is relatively well behaved and suited to this role. There is always the hypothetical "heavy chains" scenario for those who would be less cooperative. Should a well connected noble want you for a trophy, or a summoned pure-blood desire your soul for breeding, there are ways to convince you.
This protagonist's predicament gets better and better (er, worse and worse, I mean) -- the changes that they're going thrru are happening too quickly for them to swallow the gravity of it all, but it looks like they'll soon have to learn how to swallow what's coming their way very soon!!

Evidently Torrin is a senior officer, so figuring the three bars and the three diamonds, that would make him an O-6 (equivalent to the rank of a full colonel) which would make his living in personal quarters, being able to have an assistant, plus his having certain 'leeway' with Mistress plausible. RHIP (rank Has It's Privileges)...

I love how this removes any preconceived notion that Alison is for Torrin's exclusive use. She understands pretty early on that her role is determined at the whim of her Master. She is entitled to nothing, all while Torrin receives the credit of being a graceful host.
This is an odd comment to make, I know, but the interesting thing about this pic for me is the mystery as to why she (the sub in the process of being bound by the muscular ram-girl) has one sock on one foot but not on the other?...
