Of the choices, I'll definitely give the nod to the Hybrid version. The more detailed background definitely enhances the main character's reaction. It IS interesting to see what the AI does with the character, I'll agree, but overall, I still prefer your art style.
None of the AI-enhanced versions get the facial reaction right, but the more detailed AI background is an improvement. An artist obviously isn't going to be inclined to put in the time and effort to make a background look that ornate when the important part of the image in on what's happening with the person in the foreground, so handing that task to AI makes sense.
A human doing things that require actual thought, skill, and attention to detail while delegating busywork to AI is probably the best way to use it.
This is a cute character/info scene. Tech Note: The quicker animation images aren't loading for me. Looks like a problem with file names containing "." as part of the name. At least the GIF version shows the whole scene.
I wonder if this is her first time in a dress? Especially a dress like that? She's not been a woman that long, so I can understand the uncertainty and the embarrassment.
The conflicted expression was intentional, yes. In addition to the long term worries you mentioned, she also has the immediate concern of being the center of attention while in such a state.
I dunno if the artist consciously and deliberately rendered her expression so that her smile looks equal parts natural and forced, but that's how it looks to me! She feels that maternal giddiness that her obviously and unconcealable state of pregnancy brings upon her -- an effervescent anticipation that's coupled with a nagging worry for all of the unknowns that come with being a first-time mother that she doesn't have any control over
